Study 49

Don't run away, it's only music...

It's a chicken sound sample I cut with Propellerheads Recylcle, applied some guitars, Spectrasonics Trilogy and Stylus RMX and Native Instruments Absynth 3. It was composed and recorded March 18th and 19th 2005.

Reviews

"Once I got passed the chickens...

...ok - I didn't get passed the chickens.
Are those PRS chickens? Single-cut? 10 tops? They're not Fender chickens are they?
Excellent performance(s). With special emphasis on the guitar work, which kicks the 'cluck out of chickens'.
The groove is just way too cool. What a feel. The acoustic bass is just great. The guitars sound awesome.
What year are those chickens? Do you find they stay in tune?
I can never get my chickens to sound this good....I got mine at a pawn shop.
EXCELLENT!!!!!!!" (Kephas)

"A clucking masterpiece!

Phew! We just ADORE J.O. Simon's scorching electric guitar playing. He's got the magic touch that's for sure but we're not sure if he uses a plectrum or a bantam's beak. Maybe he plays with his teeth? They are certainly big enough - we've SEEN the photographic evidence!
To our ears, the chicken noises gradually become a natural, integral part of this song's rhythm but it's that gorgeous, wicked, squealing guitar playing that sends the shivers up and down our tail feathers! Love that upright bass too.
A clucking masterpiece indeed!" (Nige and Trev)

"Rufus Thomas coulda' got DOWN...

...on this track, no doubt! FUNKY chicken, inDEED, man!
I agree with Ed, them chick-a-dees play some WICKED bass against th' superlative guitars... some real "barnyard" fonk goin' DOW-un here!
Creates a "unique" environment for the listener... I can almost SMELL that chicken-poop onna' flo'! Some real RAWK-in goin' down here, J.O.
This gets an IMMEDIATE rating of MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED from me, man!" (rotcod)

"J.O. gets all the chicks!

Eggsquisite recording, subtitled "Shell Be Coming Round the Mountain" or "Keep Your Sunny Side Up."
Omelette'n this one on the player since it goes over easy. Fans will be scrambling to get a copy, so make sure you're "carton" enough around.
Your score? GRADE "A" - of course.
Whew! I got through the whole review without cracking a single yolk." (LEXZ)

"Kentucky Fried...

I love chicken, but my stomach has some problems with eggs. My cat was very nervous, when I played the song to her. She looked for the chicken, jumped around, similar to the beat, and did some meow sounds harder, even more impressive than your guitars are.
I love the arrangement, finally some fantastic humour in a modern rock production, plus the drums, structure, and riffs... original and brilliant! Do you wanna to produce a whole album with "studies"...?" (Syngularity)

I have already produced two albums with "Studies & Other Perversions". Yes, this will be on the third!
